A Race to Support the Canal

1, 2, 3 Canal! is a race whose profits go to replanting trees along the Canal du Midi. These trees are threatened by a deadly fungus, ceratocystis canker disease.

It was a unique opportunity to bring together young and old for lively activities where everyone can show their attachment to this remarkable piece of our heritage.

A fun event for all, from recreational walkers to athletes!

There were 3 routes to choose from:

- a timed 10-kilometre race for true athletes

- a timed 5-kilometre race for amateur runners

- a lively 2.5 kilometre walk for the entire family

An activity village for young and old offered a number of activities throughout the day, including:

- an exhibition by the designer Louison

- activities for children

- brass bands and music groups

- and many other surprises!

An event supported by Fabien Pelous.

We were lucky to have the support of Fabien Pelous, the patron of the second annual 1, 2, 3 Canal! race.

Originally from the Midi, this rugby player and former captain of the XV French team and the Toulouse Stadium wanted to get involved to fight against the disease that is threatening trees native to his home region.

For this reason, he was the one to give the starting signal for the race on 10 April.
