French Waterways Institution (VNF)
French Waterways Institution / Voies navigables de France (VNF) is a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport.
The establishment is in charge of the largest European network of waterways,
and includes 4700 public and private staff members working for the waterway sector.
As the entity managing government-owned canal du Midi, VNF is in charge of its replanting programme approved by the Commission Supérieure des Sites High Commission of Sites. Since August 2013 VNF has also been leading the sponsorship initiative to establish the canal du Midi safeguarding program,
along with all its partners.
